Hydrophor
The name derives from the design of a hyhore. These are piston pumps with a pressure chamber, operated by hand, portable, or horse-drawn.
Our hydrophore dates back to 1901 and was pulled by two horses. To generate the required amount of water and sufficient pressure, the hydrophore was operated by eight firefighters. To ensure a reliable water supply, the population was obligated to form bucket brigades at the entrance hall.
